SPECIAL ADVISER ON CLIMATE CHANGE, HON. MICHAEL ONIMISI AJIBADE, COMMENDS GOVERNOR AHMED USMAN ODODO ON SIGNING KOGI STATE CLIMATE CHANGE AGENCY BILL INTO LAW
Lokoja, Kogi State
I, Hon. Michael Onimisi Ajibade, the Special Adviser on Climate Change, wholeheartedly commend His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman ODODO, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, for signing the Kogi State Climate Change Agency bill into law. This landmark decision demonstrates his administration’s commitment to addressing climate change and ensuring a sustainable future for Kogi State.
The establishment of the Kogi State Climate Change Agency will provide a framework for effective climate governance, enabling the state to respond to climate-related challenges. The agency will develop and coordinate the implementation of strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change, enhancing the state’s resilience and adaptability. By prioritizing climate action, Kogi State will be better positioned to achieve sustainable development goals and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
This achievement is particularly significant following the recent validation of the Kogi State Climate Change Policy, which marks a remarkable milestone in the state’s efforts to address climate change. With the policy now in its final stage, the establishment of the Climate Change Agency will ensure effective implementation and coordination of climate actions across the state.
These progressive steps will have a positive impact on the state’s environment, economy, and citizens’ well-being. I sincerely salute the leadership and strategic vision of His Excellency for a sustainable Kogi State.
Congratulations to all Kogites on this achievement!
Signed;
Hon. Michael Onimisi Ajibade,
Special Adviser to the Governor on Climate Change.
