International President, Standup for Women Society, SWS Calls for collaboration to end GBV in Nigeria
As the world observe 16 days of activism against gender based violence, Standup for Women Society has lent her voice for collaboration from everyone to fight gender based violence.
In a statement signed by the International President of SWS, Barr. Deborah Ijadele-Adetona, and made public by the National PRO, Lib. Billie Nwogu, stated that the period is important as it enables reflection on injustice and engage stakeholders on ways of finding solution to the menace.
Given the physiological, social, economic and emotional trauma that follows Gender based violence, Standup for Women Society with her various programs across Nigeria and beyond for the growth of women and the girl child, as well as the Society, wants everyone to support the fight against gender based violence in the family, worship place, work and other public space.
Barr. Ijadele – Adetona calls for inclusion in the work space and other organisations, as well as in the homes.
With the theme for this year’s International Day for the elimination of violence against women being; “Unite to end violence against women”, Barr. Ijadele-Adetona stressed that the attributes of women in Nation building should be appreciated with deliberate efforts by policy makers to ensure that women are part of decision making in our Country to enhance inclusion and development.
Together we shall be violent free.
