GOVERNOR ODODO PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR FRONTLINE HEALTHCARE WORKERS
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has affirmed the state government’s unwavering support for frontline healthcare workers delivering essential services across all 21 Local Government Areas
Governor Ododo made this known in Lokoja during the opening ceremony of training for Front Line Healthcare Workers in all Primary Healthcare Centres in the state.
He emphasized that the revitalization of over 150 such centres and the commitment to enhancing healthcare workers’ skills align with his vision for a healthier Kogi State.
Governor Ododo commended the dedication of these frontline workers, describing them as the backbone of the healthcare system, and assured that his administration will continue to prioritize their safety and well being.
Earlier, Health Commissioner Dr. Abdulazeez Adams emphasized that the training and provision of Personal Protective Equipment are crucial steps in preparing health workers to handle emergencies.
He encouraged participants to acquire critical skills and noted the government’s ongoing investment in healthcare infrastructure and human development to strengthen the primary healthcare system.
Similarly, the executive Director of the Kogi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Muazu Musa, stated that the training aims to enhance the skills and capacity of frontline healthcare workers for improved service delivery at the primary healthcare level.
He commended Governor Ododo’s efforts in strengthening primary healthcare services, describing frontline workers as the first point of contact for individuals seeking healthcare services at the grassroots level.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of protective equipment to front line healthcare workers across all Primary Healthcare Centres in the state.
