STANDUP FOR WOMEN SOCIETY MOURNS THE LOSS OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY LOKOJA STUDENTS
The Standup For Women Society (SWS), a non-governmental organization, has condoled with the parents and management of Federal University Lokoja over the tragic loss of six students in a fatal motor accident.
In a statement issued in Lokoja, the state Chairperson, Muslimat Itopa, described the incident as “unfortunate and devastating.” She expressed her deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and the university community.
Itopa appealed to the federal government to take immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future. “We urge the government to provide speed breaks and pedestrian bridges along the road to reduce accidents and ensure the safety of students and other road users,” she said.
The SWS chairperson commended the swift response of the Kogi State Government to the university community during this critical moment.
The statement also prayed for the quick recovery of the only surviving student, who is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
