KOGI STATE COOPERATIVE FEDERATION OF NIGERIA RECEIVES DATA PROFILE OF OVER 1,000 ACTIVE MEMBERS
The Kogi State Cooperative Federation of Nigeria has officially received the data profile of over 1,000 verified active members from its Chief Consultant, part of efforts to identify committed cooperators across the state and facilitate all benefits due to them.
During the official handover of the compiled data, the consultant, Alhaji Abdullahi Ubeida, noted that the project began over a year ago with a commitment to travel from one local government to another to identify and verify genuine cooperators. Also registered market women and in the Agric Business who were not privileged to be part of the contributors before.
“It was a challenging task but my team did a very good job. I am glad for that. Ubeida said.
In his response, the President of the Kogi State Cooperative Federation of Nigeria, Muhammed Otue, commended the consultant for a job well done and expressed readiness to work with the data for further development.
Otue also called on non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and private companies to collaborate with the cooperative movement, urging them to prioritize the welfare of their employees through structured savings and welfare plans.
“Let us start saving today for a better tomorrow,” Otue said.
On interventions, the President further appealed to the Kogi State Government to support the cooperative by providing office space and also capture the federation in the state budget to enable the cooperative to grow.
“We want Kogi to operate a cooperative system like other states that have a dedicated ministry for cooperatives. We need an edifice to serve as a proper office. This is why I am using this medium to appeal to our dear Governor Ododo, a man of goodwill, who wishes well for his people to support us.”
Also speaking at the event, the President of the Women in Agriculture Federation, Dr. Audu Esther, described the data capturing as long overdue and essential for deepening member engagement and transparency.
“Even in my association which is all farmers, this exercise will help us track member commitment and ensure that only dedicated contributors benefit from grants and cooperative incentives,” she said.
Other executives of the Kogi State Cooperative Federation also expressed their appreciation to the consultant for a job well done and pledged renewed commitment to the growth and success of the society.
