WE WILL DISMANTLE BOTTLENECKS INHIBITING INVESTMENTS IN KOGI STATE – ODODO

The Kogi State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo has vowed to dismantle all bottlenecks inhibiting investments in the State, saying his administration is poised to make Kogi State the investment haven of Nigeria.

Addressing pressmen at the Kogi State Government Press Center shortly after the State Executive Council Meeting, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo said the Governor is putting modalities in place to make Kogi State investment friendly.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has demonstrated a strong determination to make Kogi State the first choice of investors by removing the red-tapes that have deprived the state of massive investments in the past. He made this known during the State Executive Council meeting and directed all the members of the State Executive Council meeting and those in attendance to ensure our administrative structures are not such that discourage investment”, he said.

Fanwo also said the Governor expressed a strong commitment to the security of lives and property in the state, urging the citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and Vigilante Groups to ensure security.

He said the administration has decided to take the route of giving a leading role to the communities in the security of their domains.

On the State Cultural Carnival which is holding between December 1 to December 7, 2024 across the three Senatorial Districts, the Information Commissioner said the Governor has expressed readiness to make the carnival a window to market the potentials of the State.

“With the carnival, Kogi State is looking at how to improve the global visibility of the state by marketing her potentials to the world. We are going to make it a big show in order to tell the world that Kogi is indeed, a tourist destination to reckon with. The Council commended the Committee steering the carnival for doing a great job”, he said.

In the same vein, the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Timothy Ojomah said the State Government has invested over 9 billion naira in agriculture to ensure Kogi takes the lead in food production. He said the Governor has matched his words with actions by investing heavily in the sector where the state has a comparative advantage.

In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Rural and Energy Development, Hon. Abdulmutalib Mohammed said electrification jobs are ongoing across the state to boost power distribution in order to stimulate economic growth.
