UK-Based Aisha Abubakar Says The Economy Could Be Improved Through Culture And Tourism

Culture refers to the shared values, customs, behaviours, and traditions of a particular group or society. It encompasses various aspects, including social norms, traditional practices and rituals passed down through generations, values, creative expressions, and language.

The Ebira people are not left out, as hundreds of sons and daughters converged on the palace of the Ohinoyi, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, last week to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 39 Regular Intake of the Nigerian Army with a cultural display and exhibition of special delicacies, attire, and artefacts of the Ebiras.

The UK-based Aisha Abubakar commended the efforts of the Ohinoyi, who with his wisdom, brought all lovers of Ebira together to promote the Kogi Central senatorial district’s culture and style, including visiting historical tourist sites.

“I am impressed by the way the Ohinoyi moved the 39 Regular Intake of the Nigerian Army to Okene. This will further expose the good values, culture, and tourism that Kogi Central has,” she said.

“I also commend the State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his efforts to keep the state and the people safe and protected from strange forces. I call on the citizens of Kogi to always support the government to build a Kogi we all desire,” she admonished.

Aisha equally used the occasion to commend young talents who are good at entertainment, making melodies in their dialects, urging the well-to-do in Kogi State to lend a helping hand to the less privileged.

According to her, she supports culture rebranding to attract the international world.

“See what I am wearing, it was woven and sewn by an Ebira person. I love it, and it looks good on me,” Aisha said excitedly.

Culture influences how people interact, perceive the world, and shape their identities. It’s a dynamic and evolving concept that plays a significant role in shaping individual and collective experiences.

Aisha appealed to the Ohinoyi of Ebira and the state government to continue promoting culture and tourism due to its ability to increase internally generated revenue.
