AN OPEN LETTER TO INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE ON THE GRUESOME MURDER OF LATE ZULEIHA ISA -THE NEED FOR JUSTICE.
Introduction
Who is Zulieha Isa?
Miss Zulieha is an indigene of kogi state born into the family of Pa’ Isa aged 22 years, a 200 level student of Nasarawa state university. She was a humble and responsible girl who took education as a carrier to become somebody in life. The innocent girl was born into an indigent family that is living from hand to mouth, due to this precarious and conditional living, Zulieha Isa decided to engage in self help to assist the parents in her educational pursuit but unknowingly to her that the woman who employed her will be a source of her untimely death and or angel of doom.
The employer, a suspect (Madam Grace Okosun) from Edo state was a beneficiary of Zulieha’s mother’s magnanimity according to narration and alleged confession by the suspect. Zulieha’s mother had sometime in the past helped the woman in finding solution to his seven years old child who couldn’t talk ever since he was born. But the payback time was to pay the family with an opposite side of the coin. WHAT A LIFE!. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
*HOW IT ALL HAPPENED*
On that faithful day, February 13, 2025 late Zulieha was observing her off-day at home with her parents when her employer (Madam Grace Okosun) put a call to late Zulieha telling her to come and help her for some work, being her boss, the mother allowed her to go but never came back till date. When Zulieha’s non return home became a concern to the family a call was put across to the woman but she vehemently denied her until when the pot became very hot that the woman agreed to have called her (Zulieha) and confessed her involvement in the whereabout of her employee (Zulieha) till date which according to the suspect the heinous act was carried out at a hotel in Gwarimpa own by one EVELYN OZABOR. Despite her confession the DPO at Gwarimpa division (name withheld) in charge of the case was making fortune from the suspect while trying to dismiss the family of the victim in favour of the suspect on the strength that nobody to fight for the victim’s parents. Paradoxically, the case was moved to SARS office at abattoir for unbiased and transparent investigation. From here the suspect and all other accomplice were apprehended and undergoing interrogation.

It sounds ironic and baffling each time I read from police stations that “police is your friend” while in the real sense it is not always true due to some unscrupulous and overzealous bad eggs in the system who trades on human lives for their own fortunes.
The role of police in this matter especially the Gwarimpa division’s DPO is a clear case of unethical aiding and abetting which is punishable under the law. There was a subversive efforts by the police in the division to discharge the family of Zulieha on the matter with a view that they’re nobody having seen they have nothing to offer. However, the Intelligent Respond Team (IRT) department in SARS office did a very good job in making sure there is justice for the family of late Zulieha.
It’s imperative to state here that “The aims and mission statements” of the police force are been compromised and eroded by some of these elements clothed in government uniform only to benefit themselves to the detriment of justice, national value and peaceful coexistence.
With due respect to the IGP’s esteemed office, We, the EGBIRA VOICE WORLDWIDE (EVWW) an organ that champions the voice of our people at home and diaspora have decided to write you this open letter to seek redress on behalf of our daughter (late Miss Zulieha Isa) who was allegedly killed by her employer in cold blood and yet refused to give the corpse to the family for a befitting burial; A taboo in Egbira culture to withhold and deny a befitting burial for a deceased person and in the gruesome manner alike.

Sir, for your information, some of your men in charge of the matter are partners in crime with the female suspect in question due to exchange of money in order to sweep the matter under the carpet. We therefore, rise to the occasion to say no and demand that *justice must be served on behalf of Zulieha* for her soul to rest in peace which could be any other person if not checked.
*OUR PRAYERS*
* That the woman must produce the dead body of late Zulieha to the family for a befitting burial. *AS A MATTER OF COMPULSION, please*
* That the IGP should investigate the DPO and some other personnel of the police division in Gwarimpa who are involved and the manner they have handled the matter to know the level of their complexity.
* That the suspected woman (Madam Grace Okosun) be charged for murder case and face judgement.
* That the family of Zulieha must be compensated adequately to atone for the death of their promising daughter.
* That the police force must purge itself of some of their bad eggs in the system.
* That we look forward to the office of IGP to graciously resolve the matter with utmost attention as required by law by way of mandamus for the suspect ( Madam Grace Okusun) to produce the remains of late Zulieha for official burial in order for her Soul to rest in peace.
*Conclusion*
EGBIRA VOICE WORLDWIDE wishes to appreciate the good work of IGP since his assumption of duty.
We use this medium to state that EVWW shall use all available channels in order to get justice in the matter until the perpetrators are brought to book. In Furtherance to this, we use this medium to call on human rights advocates, Civil Society Organizations ( CSOs) and women in law to come to the aid of the late poor girl for her to get justice. The Suspect ( Madam Grace Okusun) and all her co-hort either in uniform or camouflage must be brought to face the wrought of the law..As “He who is killed by a sword must die by the sword” – philosophical quote.
It is not out of place to state therefore that EGBIRA VOICE WORLDWIDE and well-meaning Nigerians will be forced to occupy the IGP’s office, if nothing is done in reasonable time to give Justice to the family of Zulieha; and it is imperative to note that this can trigger tribal crises between Egbira and Edo indigenes who are residing in Egbira land as they’re on the watch list. If the suspect in particular fails to produce the body of late Zulieha we should not be blamed on our further actions and inactions.
Finally, Egbira Voice Worldwide in collaboration with Egbira Red line Protection Congress will be forced to mobilize the generality of Egbira nation and all other well-meaning Nigerians to occupy the Presidency, National Assembly, Judiciary and of course IGP’s office to press home for justice.
