CP DANTAWAYE VISITS KABBA AREA COMMAND, ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY-POLICE SYNERGY

In a determined bid to reinforce security and deepen community engagement, the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc paid an official visit to the Kabba Area Command today Thursday 6th March, 2025. The visit, marked by extensive dialogue and stakeholder participation, underscores the commitment of the Police Force to proactive, Community Based Policing across Kogi State.

The CP urged Citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly to the Police or any other Security Agents. He emphasized that the power of arrest is not solely vested on the law enforcement agents, but every citizen has a role in promoting community safety. However, he advised that while community members are encouraged to act, they should exercise caution and partner with the Police through established communication channels.

He urged the stakeholders to speak up whenever they see anything unusual. Stating that every citizen has the power to assist in maintaining community security, while urging them to remain discreet when passing on information to protect their identities.

In a move to expedite response times, CP Dantawaye has directed all area commanders to share their contact numbers with the public. “Your information is crucial. When you report a case, contact your DPO or area commander immediately,” he affirmed.

The CP emphasised on a zero tolerance policy on corruption and unprofessional conduct, while urging officers to maintain high standards of discipline and professionalism.
The visit also featured robust participation from community leaders and representatives, who expressed their support for the Police Force and highlighted the challenges faced by local residents. Leaders from groups such as the Kaba Development Union, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), NATA, NURTW, MIYETTI ALLAH, COMMUNITY LEADERS, HAUSA COMMUNITY, IGBO COMMUNITY, NYSC CORP MEMBERS, POWA MEMBERS, CHAPLAINCY, and various local community bodies reiterated the importance of intelligence sharing and partnership. They lauded the CP’s transparent approach and called for continued improvements in security infrastructure to safeguard livelihoods, particularly for farmers affected by recurrent criminal activities.

Community stakeholders commended the proactive steps taken by the Police and pledged to enhance their cooperation, emphasizing that a united front between law enforcement and the public is key to curbing crime and restoring normalcy.

The Stakeholders engagement marks a significant step toward fostering a collaborative security environment in Kabba and it’s environs. By empowering community members, improving communication channels, and committing to operational excellence.

In another development, the Commissioner of Police visited the Mobile Police Force, 70 Squadron, Kabba and inspected the facilities at the Base. He commended the Squadron Commander, ACP Kanayo Ndibe for his operational capacity in securing the area. He charged the personnel to be disciplined and exhibit high level of professionalism while performing their lawful duties.
