Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has congratulated the new President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alhassan Yahaya on his victory at the just concluded triennial delegates conference of the union held in Owerri, Imo State capital.
Governor Ododo’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah.
Gov. Ododo described the new NUJ president as a worthy media professional committed to the welfare of journalists in Nigeria as exemplified by his tenure as the Deputy National President of the Union.
He said he was proud of the all-inclusive consultation and campaign that led to his emergence as the new NUJ president.
He urged him to continue to promote an all-inclusive agenda and give utmost priority to the welfare of members of the union under his leadership.
The Governor commended members of the union for their orderly conduct during the election that ushered in the new leadership.
He also congratulated the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Prime FM, Lokoja, Momoh Jimoh Adeiza on his election as the Vice President of the NUJ, Zone D, comprising Kogi, Benue, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau States and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Ododp noted that MJ Adeiza is an astute journalist who has brought honour and recognition to Kogi State over the years.
