His Excellency, former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Dr. Philip Omeiza Salawu, receives His Royal Majesty, Ohinoyi of Ebira Alh. (Dr.) Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje in his residence, Asokoro, Abuja.
Pharmacist Ibrahim Dende Salau, in his opening remark, expressed his utmost joy for joining His Excellency in receiving His Royal Majesty as he prayed and appreciated His Royal Majesty for the visit.
His Excellency Dr Philip Omeiza Salawu, in his remarks, appreciated His Royal Majesty for the all-round pace-setting in the Ebira traditional institution. He made it clear that his zeal to contest for the Ohinoyi throne was to correct the underground monarch’s intent of some individuals.
In a press statement signed and made public by the Chief Press Secretary to the Ohinoyi of Ebira Abdulhakeem O. I, former Deputy Governor spoke about efforts to alter the edict three (3) of the Ohinoyi Ascension settings, which he resisted and his efforts in the establishment of the Ohi stool.
He went further that the Ebira Opetes, the Igbos, the Tivs, the Gbagyis, the Idoma, as stateless societies according to Prof. Patrick Wilmot (a professor of Sociology, ABU Zaria).
Salawu rounded up by reaffirmed his full support to the Ohinoyi of Ebira as his vision and mission is a Siamese to his vision and that the rightful shape to ascension of the Ohinoyi stool has been taken, and concluded that he is still vibrant to continue being a key player in the political settings in the country.
A brief review of history was made by Engr Sarki Idris Enesi, who has written a resourceful and useful history book of Ebira, as his narration answered some ambiguous areas in Ebira history.
His Royal Majesty, Ohinoyi of Ebira Saaki Alh. (Dr.) Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje appreciated Allah for making the visit come true as it was not planned for. He appreciated His Excellency for all the support he has given to the throne since his ascension and described him (Dr Philip Omeiza Salawu) as a stakeholder who has the interest of the land at heart as he appreciated his contributions towards the development of Ebiraland.
He stated some instances that have ignited him in correcting some unattended to issues bordering the kingdom, which ranges from full Ohinoyi Ebira regalia, Ebira Native cloth, and several others.
“This is the right time to strengthen our history and get things right,” he added.
The Ohinoyi appealed to his host to maintain a close bond with the former Governor of Kogi State, Alh. (Dr.) Yahaya Adoza Bello CoN, as they both have a common philosophy for the prosperity of the Ebira kingdom.
He concluded by praying for continuous peace in Ebiraland, the actualisation of the collective positive dreams, and elevation of His Excellency Dr. Philip Omeiza Salawu JP.
