OHINOYI-EBIRA WARNS ADAMI KA AGAINST UTTERANCES CAPABLE OF INCITING CRISIS, VOWS TO PROTECT PEACE IN EBIRALAND

His Royal Majesty, Alh. (Dr.) Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, the Ohinoyi of Ebira, has cautioned Mr. Idris Yusuf Itopa, popularly known as Adami Ka, against making statements capable of inciting crisis, threatening peace and undermining the harmonious coexistence of the people of Ebiraland.
His Majesty gave the warning on Monday, 24 August 2026, at the Palace, during a crucial meeting with traditional rulers, elders, youth representatives and other stakeholders from Asuwe Clan, alongside Adami Ka.
The meeting followed several disturbing reports concerning statements allegedly being made by Adami Ka while advocating adherence to ancestral beliefs and traditional religion. While acknowledging everyone’s right to practise and profess their faith, the Ohinoyi expressed concern that some utterances could inflame religious sentiments and disturb the fragile peace currently enjoyed in Ebiraland.
His Majesty therefore warned him firmly to desist from such acts, stressing that he would not fold his arms and allow any individual or group to undermine the peace and security of the land.
The intervention once again demonstrated the Ohinoyi’s distinctive leadership style – firm, courageous, consultative and deeply committed to peaceful resolution of sensitive issues. Rather than allowing the matter to escalate, His Majesty brought the relevant stakeholders together to address it directly and peacefully.
The revered Monarch commended the administration of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for its genuine efforts in sustaining peace in Kogi State and Ebiraland, assuring that the traditional institution would continue to support such efforts.
His Majesty emphasized that all Ebira people are descendants of Itazi and members of one family, irrespective of religious or political differences. He therefore called on religious leaders to preach with wisdom, focusing on encouraging people to embrace their faith while avoiding attacks or provocative references to other religions.
His Majesty stressed that peace is the foundation of development, declaring that he would continue to do everything within his traditional authority to make Ebiraland better and more united. He appealed to all well-meaning Ebira to support this collective responsibility.
Participants at the meeting unanimously commended the Ohinoyi’s wisdom, maturity and pragmatic approach to issues capable of threatening peace and security, noting that his leadership has contributed significantly to the relative peace being enjoyed in Ebiraland.

In his reaction, Adami Ka acknowledged the admonition and pledged to henceforth desist from statements and actions capable of causing crisis or division in our land. He further promised to support the Ohinoyi’s efforts towards sustaining peace and unity in Ebiraland.
The meeting ended peacefully with His Royal Majesty offering prayers and well-wishes, reaffirming his commitment to the peace, unity and prosperity of Ebiraland.
