Homecoming: Mammoth Crowd Welcomes Yahaya Bello to Okene as He Drums Support for Tinubu, APC
Former Kogi State Governor and APC Senatorial candidate for Kogi Central, Yahaya Adoza Bello, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win Kogi State with a landslide in the forthcoming elections.
Bello made the declaration on Thursday during his homecoming in Okene, where a massive crowd of supporters and party faithful turned out to welcome him.
Addressing the crowd, the former governor said the overwhelming reception was a clear sign of the people’s loyalty to him and to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I have never doubted that my people are with me 100 per cent. I have never doubted that my people are supporting APC 100 per cent,” Bello said.
He noted that the turnout was organic and not induced, describing it as a true reflection of the bond he shares with the people of Kogi Central.
“It is organic. It is inborn, it is inherent, it is in our DNA, and I sincerely appreciate them,” he added.
Bello, who is contesting for the Kogi Central Senatorial seat, also expressed confidence in the support for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration, stating that the APC had shown commitment to infrastructure and democratic dividends at both state and federal levels.
He assured President Tinubu of total support from Kogi State, particularly Kogi Central.
“I want to assure Mr President that the Kogi State election, and the election of Kogi Central in particular, is as good as done 100 per cent for APC,” he declared.
Earlier, former Kogi APC Chairman, Abdullahi Bello, described the homecoming as a testament to Yahaya Bello’s influence and contributions to the political development of Ebira land.
“This is the homecoming of a leader that liberated the whole Ebira, and we all turned out to welcome him. It is not an easy thing,” he said.
