As you clock 50 years today, I sat to review your leadership style as a former Governor, a business tycoon, a financial management expert, a father, a brother, an uncle, and a husband. These were my findings.
That you are a Thinking Visionary leader with a Collaborative mindset, Strong emotional intelligence, and Commitment to growth and improvement.
Former Gov. Bello, a leader who derives joy in impacting and empowering his team and the younger generation to be equal to facing challenging tasks and overcoming with resilience and adaptability
As a former Governor, you transformed Kogi through your effective leadership which brought significant changes and improvements.
With a clear vision and strong values, you transformed the state capital city with structures and infrastructure, and upgraded educational facilities. Built world-standard universities, health delivery, and facilities including security of life and livelihood.
As the Ex-Governor, you improved governance and decision-making, enhanced public trust and confidence, increased civic engagement and participation, You placed Kogi State among others as the safest with the positive economic structure that you introduced, ghost workers were removed from the state payroll, blocked many financial leakages, and improved the state IGR which translates to the social outcomes we presently enjoy.
You are a leader who embodies good qualities that have indeed shifted the Kogi leadership paradigm and created a lasting impact in the state.
I still remember when the going was rough in Nigeria due to COVID-19, you stood alone to address the pressing issues and challenges and you overcame.
You promote peace, unity, and cooperation in Nigeria. The evidence was when you intervened in the blockade of food supply by the northern traders to the south. A step you took averted starvation and the high cost of feeding in the country.
As a brother, husband, father, and uncle, Former Governor Yahaya Bello Inspires and motivates others, Fosters innovation and progress among youths and friends.
You are a State Leader, blessed with Strong communication and listening skills, Empathy, and compassion. You were able to manage everyone despite leading a state with diverse beliefs, tongues, and cultures.
You have laid a good legacy. As a young lady who was privileged to work as one of your aides, I am always proud of you.
If I want to begin to list down all that you represent, I will not be able to pen it all down; that is why your book of chronicles of a living legend is open for everyone to describe you at 50.
I pray that you continue to shine now and for many years to come even at 100.
You are a true definition of a leader Nigeria needs. You will continue to be relevant among the decision makers in the world.
