Twenty years have passed, yet your lessons still guide us. You were more than a senator to me. You were my mentor, my compass, my proof that service and integrity can walk together.
HIS LEGACY IN MY LIFE
You taught me that leadership is responsibility, not titles. You showed me how to listen first, speak truth with wisdom, and put the people of Kogi Central above self. Every time I faced a tough decision, I would ask: “What would Senator Ahmed do?” That question still keeps me grounded.
You opened doors for me quietly, sponsored without fanfare, and corrected me firmly but lovingly. Because of you, I learned that the best way to honor a mentor is to become the kind of person they believed you could be.
A VERSE FOR HIS SOUL
Allah says in the Qur’an:
And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision.

Though you left this world 20 years ago, your impact is still alive. In every student you sponsored, every community project you started, every young leader you raised, including me, you are still providing for us.
DUA FOR YOU, MY MENTOR
Allahumma ighfir lahu warhamhu wa ‘aafihi wa’fu ‘anhu
O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him safety and pardon him. Make his grave spacious and full of light. Raise his rank among those You are pleased with, and reunite us with him in Al-Firdaus.
Senator Ahmed Tijani Ahmed, thank you for believing in me. I pray I make you proud. Your teachings live on in me, and I will pass them on.
