Commendations for the President poured in during a sensitization programme held in Kogi East, organized in collaboration with the non-governmental organisation Precious and Maureen MPCS Limited (PAMKUM) and the Kogi Unity Movement.

The event, held at the Attah Igala’s Palace, had in attendance the chairmen of Idah and Ibaji local government areas, Royal Highnesses and palace chiefs.

Representing the Attah Igala, His Royal Highness Ibrahim Atadoga, Inalogu Attah (Dooga), described the initiative as a welcome development and pledged the royal fathers’ full support.

“We pray that the ancestors of Igala land will be with them for the prosperity they aim to bring. This is a rare opportunity in life, and both trainees and trainers must take it seriously. On behalf of my colleagues, we welcome you and pray for your safe journeys. We appreciate the NGO for recognising our traditional institution by coming to the Attah first before commencing the programme,” Inalogu Attah said.

Declaring the sensitization training open, the Chairman of Idah LGA, Abulu Alfa, urged the organizers to ensure Idah is well represented among both trainees and trainers.

“This is a laudable project deserving of our full support. Please let us know where we can assist. Idah must be well represented,” Alfa stated.

Similarly, Ibaji LGA Chairman, Ugeh Emmanuel Onuchi, expressed delight at the programme and called for adequate representation for his constituency.

“I support my colleague and urge that Ibaji be fully included. We must train our youths to succeed in society. We thank the federal and state governments, as well as the NGO, for this initiative,” Onuchi said.

State Coordinator of NASRDA/GBB and President of Precious and Maureen MPCS Limited, Amb. Ibrahim Rufus Usman appreciated the monarchs for their warm reception and assured that over 1,000 willing youths would be trained, with both trainees and trainers adequately rewarded.

“This is a federal government project entrusted to NGOs. It will not be business as usual. We will ensure no one is left out,” Ibrahim pledged.

Highlighting the scope of training, State Director of Training, Amb. Amos Lawal, listed over 85 major courses, noting that additional cultural handiworks would also be included.

Fifteen NGOs from each local government have been registered by PAMKUM, in partnership with NASRDA/GBB, to kick-start the first phase of training. Each trainer will handle 10 trainees, totalling 1,350 beneficiaries across the nine LGAs of Kogi East.

Hundreds of sons and daughters of Igala land turned out to learn more about the programme, which aims to empower youths through sustainable skill acquisition under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

High points of the event is the presentation of kola as a sign of honour to His Royal Highness, Ibrahim Atadoga on behalf of Attah, HRM Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa 11.

Other officials present are, Victor Ojata – Chief of Staff, Ibaji LGA, Sylvester Ojogbane – Chief of Staff, Idah LGA, Grace Ogala – Secretary, Idah LGA, Maminetu Sule – Leader, Idah LG Legislative Council, Christie Moses – Leader, Ibaji LG Legislative Council, Councillors representing Ibaji and Idah Legislative Councils,
