ALHAJI MARUF SALMONU CELEBRATES MRS. MEDINAT SULEIMAN ON NATIONAL MUSIC AWARD
Alhaji Maruf Salmonu has joined the host of Okun people in celebrating an outstanding musician and proud daughter of the soil from Ife-Olukotun, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, Mrs. Medinat Suleiman, following her recent national recognition by the Yoruba Lárinrin Cultural Organisation. The organisation, a registered Nigerian cultural body, is widely known for its promotion of arts, culture, and entertainment across the country.
Mrs. Medinat Suleiman was honoured for her exceptional contributions to music and cultural heritage and was crowned Best Musician 2025, in recognition of her outstanding performance and dedication to the preservation and promotion of indigenous music.
Alhaji Salmonu described the award as well-deserved, noting that Mrs. Suleiman’s success reflects the rich cultural endowment and creative talents inherent in Yagba East and Kogi State at large. He commended her for using music as a tool to promote unity, culture, and positive values within society.
He further emphasized that such national recognition serves as an inspiration to young people, particularly aspiring artistes, encouraging them to pursue excellence and remain committed to their talents despite challenges.
