KOGI GOV ODODO APPLAUDS TINUBU FOR STRENGTHENING SECURITY ARCHITECTURE
…commends massive security investment in Kogi, inspects 21 Battalion Barracks in Anyigba

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture, particularly in Kogi State. He said the President’s strategic investments and support for security agencies have significantly reduced criminal activities across the state.
Governor Ododo made the remarks during an inspection visit to the newly established 21 Battalion Barracks in Anyigba, where he assessed operational facilities and interacted with military personnel.
The Governor expressed satisfaction with the level of operational readiness and the rapid establishment of the formation, describing the barracks as a clear demonstration of President Tinubu’s resolve to support sub-national governments in tackling insecurity.
According to him, the presence of the military formation has greatly improved security in Kogi East, leading to a significant decline in kidnapping, armed robbery, communal clashes, and other criminal activities.
“I am here to appreciate the gallant officers who make daily sacrifices to ensure our people sleep peacefully. Since your arrival, the security situation in Kogi East has improved tremendously,” the Governor said.
He stressed that criminals no longer find Kogi State conducive for their operations.
“Criminals now know that Kogi State is not a fertile ground for them. There is no market for criminality here. We will continue to confront them until they have no hiding place,” he added.
Governor Ododo further commended President Tinubu for supporting state governments in the fight against insecurity, noting that the President has shown practical commitment to protecting lives and property nationwide.
“The President has supported sub-national governments immensely. While he cannot be in all 36 states, we serve as partners in ensuring our communities remain safe,” he said.
He also disclosed that the Federal Government has approved the provision of air support for security operations when needed, describing it as a major boost to ongoing efforts against criminal elements.
Governor Ododo acknowledged the contributions of the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Chief of Army Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, and other security chiefs for their coordinated efforts in restoring peace.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustained investment in security.
“No amount of resources is too much when it comes to saving lives. Security remains our top priority because without it, there can be no meaningful development,” he said.
The Governor commended the Commanding Officer of the 21 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Godiya Solomon Monday, as well as officers and soldiers, for their dedication and patriotism.
“You are rendering selfless service to the nation. We are proud of you and will continue to support you,” he stated.
Governor Ododo assured the military of the state government’s continued support to sustain the gains recorded, especially as farmers prepare for the planting season.
He urged the troops to remain focused on their mandate, expressing confidence that the combined efforts of the Federal Government and security agencies will ultimately overcome threats to peace and stability in the state
