ODODO ENGAGES EBIRA COMMUNITY IN EKITI, AS STAKEHOLDERS BACK OYEBANJI’S RE-ELECTION
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, held a strategic engagement with Ebira stakeholders residing in Ekiti State at Eagle’s Hall, Ado-Ekiti. The gathering reinforced the strong bond between the Ebira community and the Ekiti State Government under the leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

The meeting brought together prominent Ebira leaders, community stakeholders, youth representatives, women groups, professionals, business owners, and members of the Ebira Community Association across the 16 Local Government Areas of Ekiti State. It provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, community development discussions, and the strengthening of longstanding relationships.
During the engagement, stakeholders unanimously declared their support for the re-election bid of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, citing his achievements in governance, infrastructure, economic growth, security, and inclusive leadership. They noted that his administration has remained people-centered and free from ethnic, religious, or political bias.

The Ebira community commended the Governor for fostering an inclusive environment where residents, regardless of ethnic background, have equal opportunities to contribute to the state’s development. They observed that under his leadership, the Ebira people have enjoyed increased recognition, inclusion, and participation in governance.
Stakeholders highlighted key initiatives of the Oyebanji administration that have positively impacted both indigenes and residents from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
These include road construction and rehabilitation projects, investments in education and healthcare, support for small and medium-scale enterprises, youth empowerment programmes, agricultural development, and improved security across the state.
Community leaders also praised the Governor’s commitment to grassroots development and his open-door policy, which ensures that the concerns of various communities are heard and addressed. They emphasized that this inclusive approach has strengthened unity, peaceful coexistence, and social harmony in Ekiti State.
The engagement further provided an avenue to discuss issues affecting the Ebira community and explore ways to deepen collaboration with the state government. Participants stressed the need for sustained engagement, youth development, educational opportunities, and economic empowerment programmes.
Speaking at the event, the Special Assistant on Ethnic Affairs (Ebira) to the Governor of Ekiti State, Hon. Suleiman Nasiru, expressed appreciation to Governor Oyebanji for his commitment to inclusiveness and community development. He commended the administration for creating an environment where all residents feel valued and represented.
Hon. Nasiru also highlighted the cordial relationship between Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, describing it as one built on mutual respect, friendship, and a shared vision for development. He noted that this relationship serves as a model for regional cooperation and national unity.

He further disclosed that the Ebira Community Association in Ekiti State has a voting strength of over 89,179 members across 168 polling units in the 16 Local Government Areas. He reaffirmed the community’s commitment to supporting Governor Oyebanji’s re-election and pledged full mobilization ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.
Stakeholders concluded the meeting by reaffirming their loyalty to the Ekiti State Government and their determination to continue contributing to the state’s growth and development. They expressed confidence in the administration’s ability to deliver more democratic dividends and promote prosperity for all residents.
The event ended on a note of unity, solidarity, and renewed commitment to collective progress, with optimism for stronger collaboration between the Ebira community and the Ekiti State Government in the years ahead.
